Oakton resident Richard Albrecht, 89, was rushed to the hospital at around 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a motorist near the intersection of West Ox Road and Tilton Valley Drive near Penderwood, according to police.

At the time of the crash, police say that a driver of a Kia was heading south on West Ox Road in the right lane when it was struck by the electric bicycle.

Albrecht was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the Kia was uninjured and remained at the scene.

Neither speed, nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation in Fairfax County.
